The U.S. Government Accountability Office has been called upon
several times by members of the U.S. Congress to investigate
and report on taxpayer funded plans targeting America's last
wild bison herd.
GAO, the investigative arm of the U.S. Congress, has been highly
critical of costly plans that have destroyed thousands of wild
bison in Yellowstone National Park and Montana.
Congressional oversight is needed, and public oversight of Congress'
power of the purse can re-direct taxpayer money to truly benefit
America's last wild bison in its native habitat.
