If you have ever wanted to join BFC on the front lines, now is the time. Buffalo migration is underway in both the Hebgen (west) and Gardiner (north) Basins. We are running full patrols along both boundaries, but we are short on field volunteers to help us keep up with the various locations. We are in dire need of able-bodied field volunteers who welcome the challenge of extreme winter temperatures and deep snow. Don’t know how to ski or snowshoe? Don’t worry - we will teach you! And don’t fear the cold, either, as we can outfit you to keep you warm and dry. This season is threatening to be a very deadly one for our wild buffalo friends, and we need as many buffalo defenders as possible to join us in documenting all actions against the buffalo, and challenging the forces that harm them. While field volunteers are sorely needed, there are multiple opportunities available to volunteers that don’t involve standing in the cold with the buffalo. We can always use help at camp, in the office, around the cabin, and we will need lots of folks to help us prepare and carry out our upcoming Week of Action (February 14-20), and to help us fill the halls of Helena, Montana’s capitol, and defend the buffalo against the rancher-heavy legislature which is in session this year. If you have the passion and desire, we can put you to work to help wild buffalo!
