2027 Calendar Submissions Wanted! Send Us Your Art & Photos!

It's that time again! BFC is gearing up for our 2027 Wild Bison of Yellowstone Country Calendar, and we want your beautiful wild buffalo images!

The calendar has been such an amazing project for us, a true celebration of the wild buffalo of Yellowstone country, and we are thrilled to continue with it.

Photo Submissions

Content considerations:

Photos must be high-resolution, digital images of wild buffalo from the Yellowstone herds in their natural habitat (no roads, signs, fences, people, etc. in the shot please).
Photos from every season are needed, including buffalo in deep winter, calving season, the rut, herd shots, and everything in between.
Images of wild buffalo with wild neighbors such as grizzly bears, wolves, and others are also encouraged.

Photo technical requirements:

Photos must be at least 12.25" wide x 8.25 tall at 300 pixels per inch (approximately 3800x2400px, or a 35mb file. This requires a 10 megapixel camera or larger.
The images should be unedited and uncropped whenever possible.
Files should be in an uncompressed RGB/TIF, PNG, or most Camera RAW formats.
- A high-resolution (unmodified) JPEG file is fine for submission, as long as you have high quality RAW or original files to submit if/when we ask for it.
Your images should not be color-corrected. Adjusting color in images for four color process printing is different than for other printing processes.

Artwork submissions

We are also accepting artwork for the calendar, so please submit any art you'd like us to consider. And if you have any inspiring poetry, quotes or interesting facts you'd like us to share in the calendar, please send those our way also.

When submitting photographs of artwork we need photos that are as straight on (not at an angle) and flat as possible, without the use of flash. The image files should be at minimum of 4 inches in ether height/width at a high resolution (300ppi). This means a minimum of 1200px on the short side.

* Artwork created in any medium will be accepted but submissions must be digital as it will be printed in the calendar.
* Use PNG, RGB/TIFF, or RAW format for the upload.
* You may submit high-resolution JPG for evaluation, but we may ask for original files if accepted.

* Each file can be a maximum of 128MB in size.
* Make sure all files you submit begin with your full name in the filename. e.g. John-Doe-Buffalo.tif

You may send up to five files at a time. If you wish to submit more than five images, resubmit the form. If your RAW format is rejected, please contact us to add that as a supported upload format.

By submitting these photos/artworks you agree that it may be used in BFC calendars, and other education, outreach and promotional materials. These include but are not limited to BFC's website, social media, postcards and digital promotion in this and future years.

The artwork/photos may be altered (cropped, color corrected) by the BFC visual design team.

Agreeing to these terms will enable our team to most readily include your artwork in this project.

BFC will NOT sell or provide your personal information to 3rd parties without your permission.

Artists and photographers will be given full credit for any and all photos, poetry, art and images. If your photo doesn't make it into this calendar, we may still consider it in future years, and/or use it to help educate and inspire in our email updates, web site, newsletters, and other outreach materials.
