It’s nearly March, and Winter has finally arrived in earnest. We have been getting hammered by heavy snowfall since Saturday.

I have only been back from my 2 week volunteer experience with Buffalo Field Campaign for a few days and I am already missing the wildness and beauty of West Yellowstone, the people, and the wonderful community that’s dedicated day in and out to protecting the buffalo.
Many of you know the dire predicament wild buffalo face year after year – a troublesome situation that is written into the statutes including Montana’s code.
The situation in the field here remains basically the same: quiet. Winter gave us yet another big storm event a couple weeks ago, which brought a lot more snow, but, still, the buffalo seem to be satisfied in the higher elevations of Yellowstone.
One of the many ways Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) works to protect America’s last wild bison is through education and outreach efforts.
Organized by BFC campaign seasons, which follow buffalo migration patterns each winter.
